About
My name is Emin Chee, and I am grateful for the opportunity to join Prickly Pear Therapy Services. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process built on trust, compassion, understanding, and respect. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and free from judgment.
My approach to helping others is shaped by both my professional education and my lived experiences. I have experienced firsthand some of the challenges that can make life difficult, including socioeconomic hardship, poverty, anxiety, depression, substance use, and recovery. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of how difficult it can be to ask for help and how important it is to have someone who will listen with compassion and without judgment.
I believe our experiences can shape us, but they do not have to define our future. I have learned this through my own journey. I did not begin my educational journey until later in life. I earned my GED and continued on to higher education, completing my master's degree between 2010 and 2018. I am now in the final stages of completing my Doctor of Social Work (DSW) degree at Capella University.
My personal journey has taught me the importance of perseverance, resilience, accountability, and believing that change is possible—even when circumstances make it difficult to see a way forward.
As I work with clients, I strive to meet each person where they are and to recognize their individual strengths, experiences, and goals. I believe effective therapy should be compassionate while also being purposeful and focused on meaningful change. Together, we can identify barriers, build on strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward goals that are meaningful to you.
I bring empathy, dependability, understanding, and a commitment to helping people move forward. I do not expect anyone to have their life figured out before beginning therapy. Sometimes, the first step is simply having a safe place to talk and someone willing to walk alongside you.
I look forward to being part of your journey toward healing, growth, and a life that feels more manageable and meaningful.
