Cora Boyd, LPCC

Cora Boyd is an independently licensed counselor (LPCC) in New Mexico. Cora is Diné and lives in New Mexico. She received her education in counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed her internship through Darrin's Place in Española and has been employed with Darrin's Place for over three years while also working part time with Prickly Pear Therapy.She has worked with clients with addiction, neurodevelopmental disorders, bipolar and mood disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and behavioral and emotional challenges. Cora has conducted assessments, developed client-centered treatment plans, and used evidence-based interventions to create balance in clients' lives. She is committed to promoting personal growth using empathy and understanding while remaining culturally competent.Cora's approach to therapy is to bring healing and help clients build on their own strengths using different modalities focused on individual needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy.
